Wenzhou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone was approved by The State Council on March 3, 2020, and upgraded on the basis of the original Wenzhou Bonded Logistics Center (Type B), with a planned area of 1.25 square kilometers and construction in two phases. The first phase passed the formal acceptance by the General Administration of Customs and other eight national ministries and commissions on March 31, 2021, and the second phase passed the provincial joint acceptance on September 29, 2024, with the conditions for the operation of the whole area.
