What should we do if the smart lock runs out of battery?

As long as it is an electronic product, there will always be a situation where there is no electricity, and it may just be when it needs to be used. Taking smart locks as an example, the biggest concern for users is that when they arrive at their home and want to open the door, they may find their locks running out of batteryIn general, users can use a mechanical key or use a power bank to charge the product and achieve emergency unlocking. With the iteration of technology and products, more new types of emergency unlocking have begun to emerge, providing users with more choices.

1: Mechanical password

Using a mechanical password button to unlock, the most popular one is the Kunling Secret Key, which is commonly used in Kunshan. The advantage of this method is that it not only allows for emergency unlocking, but also allows users to completely abandon the mechanical key, achieving a bank-level encryption. In addition to Kunshan General Motors, the Inteman brand under Sanmu Intelligence also adopts a mechanical password scheme.

2: Dual power supply system

This method eliminates the keyhole of the smart lock and instead implements emergency unlocking from within the product, mainly referring to a dual power supply system. This scheme adopts a dual circuit, and if the power supply circuit fails, the backup circuit will be activated. At this year's Construction Expo, Dongwu Shian's super battery solution can enable the super battery to be activated through the external lock button even if the smart lock battery runs out of battery or is removed, and the door lock can be opened through verification.

3: Rotating the mechanical rod to generate electricity

In addition to mechanical passwords and dual power supply systems, there are also solutions in the industry that can provide power through other means when the smart lock runs out of power. For example, at the 2020 China Construction Expo, the "smart lock that generates electricity" that attracted widespread attention was powered by rotating the mechanical rod to achieve the effect of opening the door lock.

4: OTG reverse charging

The recently released OTG reverse charging function of Huawei Smart Selection Dessmann Smart Lock has also sparked industry discussions. When the door lock runs out of power, the Type-C power cord at the bottom of the door lock can directly connect to Huawei phones for reverse charging, providing power to unlock the door lock.It can be seen that with the development of technology and products in the industry, there are more and more solutions that can unlock smart locks when they run out of power. Some solutions may not be very mature yet, but undoubtedly, they all demonstrate the deep thinking and exploration of lock companies towards the problem of "users still not truly freeing their hands due to the existence of spare keys".Smart locks should be an electronic product that can provide users with a secure and convenient experience, so the hassle of not being able to enter the door due to the smart lock running out of power (but unable to charge the door lock in the first time) should be minimized to the greatest extent possible. In the future, we look forward to more solutions emerging, allowing users to truly feel at ease when going out and happy when returning home.
