From October 17th to 19th, 2023, the China Hardware Products Association, as the Chinese technical counterpart of ISO/TC 291, organized an expert delegation to participate in the 9th ISO/TC 291 working conference held in Frankfurt, Germany. The Chinese delegation to this meeting is composed of Liu Runfeng, the full-time vice chairman of the China Hardware Products Association, Huang Hua from the National Gas Appliance Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Foshan), and Guo Yingyun, a staff member of the China Hardware Products Association. Liu Runfeng is the head of the delegation. Fourteen representatives from Germany, France, Japan, Portugal, Türkiye, the United Kingdom and other countries attended the meeting.

This meeting continued to advance the process of standard revision, and discussed various requirements such as international relevance, NO2, natural gas hydrogen tempering boundary gas, and opinions submitted by various countries one by one. The main content of the meeting is as follows:

Due to the absence of the representative of the United States, the representative of Japan elaborated on the appeal made by the representative of the United States and the issue of how to improve the international relevance of the standard. The Secretariat responded to this request by writing a document and submitting it to the TMB. Due to time constraints, this standard was first upgraded from CD to FDIS, and then the United States could propose specific terms and contents, and make corresponding modifications during the revision process;

The requirements for NO2 are listed in Appendix B of ISO21364-21 Natural Gas Hydrogenation: After discussion, due to the lack of relevant NO2 testing experience in many countries, it has been temporarily decided to include the NO2 requirements in the informative appendix. After most countries have undergone a period of testing and obtained sufficient data experience, it will be considered for inclusion in the main text. Requirements for nozzle seat material: The melting point of the nozzle seat material shall not be less than 430 degrees, and the burner material shall not be less than 500 degrees. Add latitude usage conditions in the manual: Add the highest latitude requirement or warning for high-altitude usage in the manual. Discussion on other testing details: CO and NO2 use the same sampling device, but the copper tube sampler needs to be marked and can only be used to measure CO. If NO2 needs to be measured, a PTFE or stainless steel sampler needs to be used; Stop reading when the temperature of the suction probe exceeds 200 degrees (non flue gas temperature) during NO2 testing; When testing natural gas with hydrogen, it is considered to be in a hot state if the test lasts for 30 minutes.

The conference has finally confirmed that there will only be one offline meeting next year, and the initial plan is to hold it in October.
